Perfect Sundowners: Happening Rooftop Restaurants In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Rooftop restaurants are the latest craze in town. The mild breeze, city lights below and the sunsets let you embrace the beauty of the Odisha capital enjoying your favourite snacks, drinks or dinner.

Following are some happening rooftop restaurants in the city:

OOPRE- KITCHEN AND CAFE

One of the most popular places in town where getting a table in the outdoor area is tough on weekends. The rooftop has a Greek theme flaunting the white and blue Santorini vibe.

Located at Chandrasekharpur, it has a two-floor space with 240 seats and includes an open-air and an indoor fine dining section. The ambience is perfect for romantic candlelight dinner dates.

Continental, Italian, and Burmese food as well as Indian are popular here. It is one of the only places to serve Sushi on order.

Among cocktails, beer satsuma and sangria are pretty popular here.

Average cost – ₹ 1000 for two people

TOP NOTCH

As the name suggests, this is one of the fanciest places in town. Located at Zoris Boutique Hotel in Patia, this new place has a lovely sky lounge as well as one of the most premium dance floors in Bhubaneswar. The place is popular for big names for having roped in celebs like Dj Aqeel, Ashmit Patel and others for parties. The dance floor has brilliant LED lighting and the cocktails are quite popular. Food is good, though wait times are a little long.

Also, this is a good place to spot fancy supercars!

Average cost – ₹ 2000 for two people

CAFE SUNDOWNER

The ambience of this Cafe is very pleasing, especially at sunsets. There is even a writing mentioning “All you need is love and Sunsets” – quite right, yes?

From a great mocha to authentic continental food including Chinese, Mexican, Italian with cocktails. It is located at Lakshmisagar inside Mango Hotel.

Average cost- ₹ 600 for two people (minimum)

EMBASSY CLUB AND SKY LOUNGE

Probably the only place that has a sky lounge as well as a dance floor with live Dj. The view from the roof top is great and the place stands out with bright colours. The main attraction is the dance floor which is very popular and crowded on weekends. It serves Finger Food, North Indian and Continental and is located at Chandrasekharpur behind BPCL pump. The floor, however, is not well insulated so be prepared to feel the vibrations of the music on the rooftop as well. Also, the pizza base isn’t up to the mark.

AANGAN HORIZON

One of the oldest rooftop places in town. The name Angaan is popular for its chain of restaurants here and serves great Indian and Indian-Chinese food. It provides casual dining with a pub. It is located at Patia.

PENT CAFE’

It is one of those rooftop restaurants in Bhubaneswar which has gained rapid popularity among youngsters as it provides a pleasant view as well as it is conveniently located near KIIT University.

It serves hookah apart from Mexican, Chinese and Continental cuisines. It is located on the rooftop of OEU TOWER, KIIT Road.

Average cost – ₹ 400 for two people (approx.)

A photogenic rooftop place popular for selfies. The interiors are decorated with very innovative wall-art.

Located at Sampark Vihar in Patia, the place is cozy and is famous for its sizzlers and brownies. Talking about the ambience, this rooftop restaurant is unique in its own way.
It has swinging seats and interesting funky elements like scooter seats.

Average cost – ₹ 450 for two people (approx.)

RICHARD’S KITCHEN AND COFFEE BAR

Quite popular among KIIT students, this place has a rooftop lounge along with hookah. Chinese dishes are particularly popular here.

If you are not a hookah lover then this place has a separate place for non-smokers as well.
