Rourkela: With an aim to control the rising incidents of crime in the steel city of Rourkela, a state-of-the-art control room at the office of the SP was dedicated by the Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay on Sunday.
The DGP also flagged off 25 new PCR vans.
This was Abhay’s maiden visit to the city after taking charge as DGP.
Later, he had a three-hour marathon meeting with the SPs of Rourkela, Sundargarh and Keonjhar on policing, the activities of the Peoples’ Liberation Front of India (PLFI) and Maoists along the border of Sundargarh district.
The DGP also advised officials to strictly adhere to the pro-people Mo Sarkar programme and the 5 Ts initiative of the state government.
