Sundargarh: The Sundargarh district reported one COVID-19 death and 33 new positive cases in the last 24 hours, which took the toll and affected tally to five and 1053 respectively.
Of the new cases, 13 have no travel and contact history and these have been reported from Rourkela (10) and one each from Biramitrapur Municipality, Khamaripada and Regent market areas.
A total of 17 of these cases were detected during active surveillance in Rourkela city.
Of the remaining two cases, one asymptomatic direct and high-risk contact of laboratory contact case has been detected at Dengibadi in Sundargarh Sadar block while the other is a COVID warrior, who is asymptomatic direct and high-risk contact of laboratory contact case from Dudka area of the district.
