Bhubaneswar: In order to ensure free and safe movement of buses during construction of Interstate Bus Terminus (ISBT) at Baramunda and bus depot at Khandagiri in the city, the Bhubaneswar Development Authority has proposed changes in the entry and exit routes of the buses.
As per the new rules, the buses coming from Cuttack to ISBT will take U-turn through Khandagiri fly-over underpass while those leaving the terminus to Khurda will take U-turn through Fire Station underpass.
The underpass at Baramunda will be allowed only for light motor vehicle (LMV). Restriction barrier will be installed to prevent movement of heavy vehicles including buses.
The service road on both sides of the NH from Fire Station Square to Khandagiri Square may be developed to make the existing carriage way into 3-lane for smooth flow of traffic.
The BDA has submitted the proposal to the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).
