Route Chart For Vice-President’s Visit Finalised

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the visit of the Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu, the Commissionerate Police has finalised the route chart in the Odisha capital.

Official sources said that the Vice-President will arrive at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here in a special flight from New Delhi on August 16 morning.

Soon after his arrival, he will proceed to the campus of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to attend the annual convocation of the institute.

After attending the function, he will return to the airport and fly back to New Delhi in the afternoon.

Talking to the mediapersons, Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Kumar Sahu said the route charge from the airport to the AIIMS has been fixed.

“From the airport, the Vice President would be taken to the AIIMS via Sur Company Chhak, Ganganagar, Siripur, Fire Station, Khandagiri and Aiginia Chhak. After attending the function, he will return the same route,” he added.

He further said that the Commissionerate Police has written to the Works secretary to take up necessary road repair work along the route on the eve of the Vice-President’s visit.
