Royal Wedding: Public Guests Asked To Bring Their Own Picnic Lunch

Bhubaneswar: A fortnight more to the most-awaited royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Around 1,200 members of the public, ranging from inner-city youth workers to lauded members of communities, are invited to the function.

However, a letter sent to the invitees has peeved a few. Reason: It says, “You are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch as it will not be possible to buy food and drink on site”.

A statement from the Kensington Palace suggested some refreshments and snacks but guests are unhappy about bringing their own food. The public guests will be able to watch the royal couple arrive and then leave in a carriage.

“If you hear I fainted, it won’t be because I was starstruck,” said Rashid Bhayt, a youth charity leader from Coventry. Another invitee and youth magazine founder Saeed Atcha said she is honoured to have been invited but the food situation amuses her.

Apart from this, what makes this wedding different is the fact that Ms Markle will have no maid of honour and all her bridesmaids and pageboys will be children.

Markle’s father, Thomas, will meet her daughter’s fiance for the first time. Her mother Doria Ragland will also accompany her to the wedding. What makes it special is the fact that her parents had divorced when she was six and are both coming to attend her wedding. While her mother will travel with her to the church, her father will walk her down the aisle.
