Balasore: Gang of three robbers, involved in looting passengers onboard various trains, were arrested by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Jaleswar railway station in Balasore district on Friday.
The burglars were plotting to loot the passengers onboard ‘Patna-Ernakulam Express’ when the RPF busted their plan and arrested them. The RPF has seized Rs 2,000, a knife, a machete and six cell phones from them.
According to sources, two of the gang are from Kharagpur and one is from Jaleswar in Balasore district. However, there has been no confirmation from the police yet.
The Railway police had carried out search operation at Jaleswar station following which they learnt about the robbers’ plan of looting the train passengers, the sources added.
