Balangir: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Friday arrested a youth for allegedly pelting stones at running trains in Odisha’s Balangir district.
Following reliable information regarding the whereabouts of the youth, a team of RPF personnel conducted a raid on Dipika Bike Garage at Shankar Bhaji Chowk on Balangir-Bargarh highway and detained the suspect.
The 20-year-old suspect was identified as Akash Dang of Padiabahal under Puintala police station in the district. He was working as a helper in the garage.
During questioning, he confessed that he had pelted stones at a running train coming from Balangir between LC gates at different places in the section on the night of October 4.
The RPF handed over Akash to GRPS in Balangir and a case under IPC and Railway Act registered against him.
