Sundargarh: A private bus has been imposed a hefty penalty of Rs 1.22 lakh by the Transport department of Odisha for plying in Sundargarh without valid documents.
According to sources, the Regional Transport Office (RTO) imposed a fine of Rs 1,22,488 on the private bus for plying without valid documents during vehicle checking near Town High School in Sundargarh.
The vehicle did not have any fitness certificate, route permit, road tax receipt and insurance coverage from the appropriate authorities. The driver of the bus also allegedly failed to produce any driving license.
The bus was being used for transporting students staying in the sports hostel to Town High School
