Keonjhar: Police on Saturday seized Rs 1.95 lakh of unaccounted cash from a car belonging to Jadumani Barik, Congress candidate from Champua Assembly seat, near Shankarpur in Keonjhar district.
Barik failed to produce valid documents to prove the source of the cash, police sources said, adding that he was being interrogated at Champua police station.
As the model code of conduct is in force for the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, individuals are required to produce documents while carrying more than Rs 50,000 in cash.
