Puri/Bhubaneswar: In a daring daylight robbery, two unidentified looted Rs 10 lakh from a petrol pump owner at Nimapara in Puri district on Tuesday morning.
Rasananda Sahoo, the owner of the petrol pump located on the busy Nimapara-Pipili road, had kept Rs 10 lakh in the dickey of his motorcycle to deposit the money in a bank. He had parked the vehicle near his office on the filling station premises. Suddenly, two motorcycle-borne miscreants broke the dickey and decamped with the money while he was in his office. Police have accessed some CCTV footage from cameras, which has captured the two suspects on a red motorcycle, installed on the premises. Statement of eyewitnesses and the petrol pump staff have also been recorded, said a police officer.
