Bargarh: A poll flying squad seized Rs 12 lakh from a vehicle, belonging to BJD leader Prem Kishore Patel, at Bhatli Baulsingha in Bargarh district on Tuesday.
His manager, Jogesh Nayak, has been detained for interrogation.
Patel, who also owns a filing station, later clarified that his manager was carrying the cash to deposit in bank. “We have submitted various documents, including daily sale registrar and bank transaction details to the police,” he said.
