Jharsuguda: In a broad daylight heist, five armed robbers looted over Rs 14 lakh from a private bank at Belpahar in Jharsuguda district on Wednesday.
According to sources, the five wearing masks arrived at the bank in an SUV without a number plate between 1 pm and 2 pm. While two stood guard after downing the shutter, the other three looted the money from the cash counter at gun point.
They also snatched money and mobile phones from the customers before fleeing the spot.
On being informed, Jharsuguda SP Aswini Kumar along with a scientific team reached the spot and began an investigation into the loot.
