Bhubaneswar: The Cyber Crime Help Desk of the Bhubaneswar Urban Police District (UPD) has registered 405 complaints of cyber frauds amounting to over Rs 2.2 crore during March this year, an official released said on Monday.
Of the total of Rs 2,20,17,869, Rs 1,54,58,129 involved frauds related online trading and investment while Rs 65,59,740 was looted on the pretext of OTP, KYC update and other links.
The release further said that 217 of the total complaints pertained to frauds related to UPI, 83 to credit card/debit card, 70 to social media and 27 to other cases. Of these, 14 cases were registered at the Cyber Crime & Economic Offence police station.
