Bargarh: Odisha Crime Branch officers on Thursday detained three miscreants involved in circulating fake currency notes worth Rs 2,00,600 at Bhatli chhak in Bargarh district.
According to reports, the Special Task Force (STF) of the Crime Branch seized around 288 fake notes in denominations of Rs 500, 233 notes in denominations of Rs 200 and 100 notes in denominations of Rs 100 from the accused.
Among the three accused, Manglu Malkhar is from Chhatisgarh, while Sudarshan Mohanty and Prafulla Meher are from Bargarh.
A case has been registered at the Bargarh Sadar Police Station and investigation is underway to trace the origin of the fake currency.
