Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Sunday began an investigation into the looting of cash worth Rs 27 lakh from an ATM counter of Punjab National Bank (PNB) at Patia in the city on Saturday night.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the miscreants barged into the ATM counter on Patia Station Road behind a filing station near Big Bazar square and decamped with the cash by breaking the ATM with a gas cutter machine.
The bank officials, who lodged a complaint at Info City police station, admitted that there was no security at the ATM counter.
Till reports last came in, Info City police and a scientific team examined the CCTV footage and begun an investigation.
