Rs 3 Lakh Worth Brown Sugar Seized Near Airport In Odisha’s Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda: Police arrested three persons and seized brown sugar worth Rs 3 lakh from Airport Square in the town on Wednesday.

Those arrested are,  Jitesh Kumbhar (24), Irshad Khan (30) and Md. Mumtaz (27). The brown sugar was sourced from Kolkata and Ranchi for sale in Jharsuguda.

Police also seized 2 KTM bikes, Rs 13,000 and a mobile phone from their possession.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided and arrested the three. All the accused were found to be habitual offenders who were earlier arrested for theft, extortion, robbery, and attempt to murder offences.

A case has been registered.
