Rs 32-Crore Budget Approved For Jagannath Temple In Puri; Know Major Heads Of Expenses

Bhubaneswar: The Law department has approved a budget of Rs 32 crore for Jagannath temple administration for financial year 2022-23.

The Law department, in a letter to Accountant General (AG), has informed that total Rs 32,05,12,000 has been deposited in the account of Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) to meet its annual expenses for 2022-23 fiscal.

The budget provides payment of Rs 57.6 lakh to ‘Daitapati’ servitors for being deprived of access to chariots during Rath Yatra in the pilgrim town.

Following are the details of other major heads of expenditure in the budget:

  • Rs 2.4 lakh to Puri king Gajapati Divyasingh Deb
  • Rs 22 lakh towards ‘Kothabhoga’ donation
  • Rs 2,12,96,000 towards festivals of the deities
  • Rs 25,71,76,000 towards payment of salary of the employees of the temple administration
  • Rs 1,2,00,000 towards miscellaneous expenses
  • Rs 2 crore towards corpus fund
  • Rs 20 lakh towards development projects
  • Rs 6 lakh towards health insurance of the temple servitors
  • Rs 6.4 lakh towards setting up an English medium school
  • Rs 4 lakh towards housing project of servitors
