New Delhi: Police in Karnataka seized Rs 7.6 crore worth of cash, gold and silver jewellery during a raid on the house of the owner of Hema Jewellers in Kambali Bazaar in Ballari on Sunday. The seized items included Rs 5.60 crore in cash, 3 kg of gold, and 103 kg of silver jewellery with 68 silver bars, India Today reported.
The owner, Naresh Soni, was taken into custody and questioned.
Police suspect the seized items are the proceeds of a Hawala transaction.
A case has been registered by the police to probe further into the alleged transactions
