Bhubaneswar: The State Government has further broadened the gamut of the Rs 50 lakh assistance scheme for the kin of those who die during the fight against COVID-19.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in a tweet on Thursday said the sarpanches and those engaged at COVID facilities – Temporary Medical Camps (TMCs), Quarantine Centres and COVID Hospitals – in the State will be covered by the scheme.
Announcing the inclusion of the new group, Naveen in a tweet said the sarpanches are playing a stellar role in management of TMCs, quarantine centres and other COVID facilities at the grassroots level.
Considering their responsibilities as frontline fighters, they have been brought under the scheme, he said.
Similarly, the employees of private and public sectors, who have been deputed at TMCs, quarantine centres and special COVID Hospitals will also receive the assistance, the CM said.
