They intercepted a car going from Rampur at the checking point. On searching the vehicle, the police found bundles of cash in denominations of Rs 500 and Rs 100. When counted, the total money was found to be Rs 55 lakh.
Six persons including a woman were going in the car. When questioned by the police, the car passengers said they were going from Rampur to Kakinada in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.
