Bhubaneswar: Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Tuesday informed the Rajya Sabha that 39 projects for 4,877 km length, falling fully or partly in Odisha, and costing Rs 61,949 crore are in different stages of planning, approval and execution.
Of 4,877 km length, 947 km has been commissioned with an expenditure of Rs 16,264 crore till March 2020, he said.
Replying to a question of BJD Rajya Sabha member Sasmit Patra on the total capital expenditure incurred by the Railways through its various divisions in Odisha and the details of assets generated by such capital expenditure, he said that the details of the projects including their cost, expenditure and outlay are available in the public domain of the Indian Railways website www.indianrailways.gov.in .
The Union Minister further said that the budget outlay and capital expenditure are incurred project-wise and not state-wise as the network of the Indian Railways spans across various state boundaries.
