Balangir: In a daring act, unidentified miscreants allegedly looted Rs 7.3 lakh cash from a man in broad daylight at a village in Muribahal area of Odisha’s Balangir district on Friday.
As per information, the incident took place at Haldi village under the jurisdiction of Muribahal police station in the district when the man, identified as Lalit Gahir of the Grahak Seva Kendra (GSK) of a bank.
Sources said around three miscreants intercepted Lalit near Haldi village when he was travelling on his bike with the cash. His sister was also travelling with him. The miscreants snatched the cash bag and fled after brandishing sharp weapons and threatening the duo.
On being informed, a team from Muribahal police station visited the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
