Bhubaneswar: The Rourkela Steel Plant of Steel Authority of India (SAIL) in Odisha has bagged the Prime Minister’s Shram Awards (PMSA) for 2018 in all categories.
The Central government on Thursday announced the Shram awards in three categories – Shram Bhushan awards with cash prize of Rs 1,00,000 each, Shram Vir/Shram Veerangana awards carrying Rs 60,000 each and Shram Shree/Shram Devi awards which have a cash prize of Rs 40,000 each.
As many as six workers of the RSP have been nominated for Shram Bhusan award, six for Shram Veer/Veerangana award and three for Shram Shree/Devi award, according to a release of Ministry of Labour and Employment.
The awards will be presented to 69 workers employed in the Departmental Undertakings and Public Sector Undertakings of the Central and state governments and private sector units in recognition of their distinguished performance, innovative abilities, outstanding contribution in the field of productivity and exhibition of exceptional courage and presence of mind.
Out of the total awardees, 49 workers are from the public sector while 20 are from the private sector. They include 8 women workers.
