Rourkela: Six days after the body of one of the five youths, who went missing in a tunnel of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) was recovered during a joint operation by police, ODRAF and fire officials, the bodies of two others were found inside the tunnel on Friday afternoon.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained. Search and rescue operations are underway to locate two others.
On June 9, the body of a youth recovered from inside the tunnel after an eight-hour long effort. The youths hailing from Sitalapada slum had gonet missing in the tunnel (Outfall-9) of the plant on June 3, but the matter came to the fore only after family members of one of the victims lodged a complaint regarding the matter at Uditnagar police station on June 8.
Soon after receiving the complaint, a joint team of police, ODRAF and fire officials swung into action to trace the missing persons. Locals allege that the youths went inside the tunnel to steal steel material of the plant.
