Bhubaneswar: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat is scheduled to embark on a five-day visit to Odisha from Thursday.
Sources said Bhagwat is slated to arrive in Bhubaneswar on Thursday afternoon. After attending several programmes, he is slated to leave Odisha on August 12, senior RSS functionary Sumakta Kumar Panda said on Wednesday.
The RSS chief will be in Bhubaneswar on Thursday. He is slated to visit the pilgrim town of Puri on August 9. Besides offering prayers at Shree Jagannath Temple, he will also visit Gobardhan Pith and meet Puri Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati.
On August 10 and 11, a meeting of top national functionaries of the RSS will be held in Puri and Bhagat is slated to attend the programme.
There will be no public programme during the RSS chief’s visit to the state, the sources said.
