Baripada: COVID-19 test at the Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital in Baripada of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district began on Sunday after district collector Vineet Bharadwaj inaugurated the new RT-PCR (Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction) laboratory at the microbiology and virology department of the hospital.
The newly-inaugurated lab will conduct the COVID-19 test every day as per the norms of Health Department and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
Among others, Dean and Principal, Prof Ramaramana Mohanty, Head of the Department of Microbiology Prof Diptilata Panda, hospital superintendent Baikuntha Nath Mohapatra, Baripada ADM (Revenue) Bibekananda Sahu, CDMO Rupabhanu Mishra, District Emergency Officer Sujay Kumar Pati, APD (Administration) District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) Sangeeta Behera and the doctors and staff of the medical college were present.
