Bhubaneswar: A data entry operator (DEO) at the office of the Regional Transport Officer (RTO) at Chhatrapur in Odisha’s Ganjam district was apprehended by Vigilance sleuths for allegedly accepting Rs 12,000 bribe to update tax details for two vehicles.
The accused, identified as Gourahari Padhy, was caught by Vigilance officials while demanding and accepting Rs 12,000/- from a complainant for updating of tax in respect of his two vehicles towards exemption of fine amount during Covid -19 period.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from Padhy and seized.
Following the trap, house search is going on at one location of Padhy from DA angle.
In this connection, a case has been registered and investigation is in progress against Padhy.
