Rukuna Rath Yatra In Bhubaneswar On April 9; Know Schedule Of Rituals

Bhubaneswar: Lingaraj temple administration on Tuesday announced the schedule of Rukuna Rath Yatra (car festival of Lord Lingaraj) in the city.

Following a coordination meeting between Khurda district collector and servitors of Lingaraj Temple, the administration announced that the Rath Yatra would be celebrated on April 9.

The schedule of different rituals of the deities was also decided at the meeting. As per the decision, the Mangala Alati will be performed at 5 am on the day of Ashokastami. It will be followed by Abakasha Niti and other rituals.

Pahandi (procession of the deities from the temple to chariot) will be held between 12.30 pm and 1.30 pm. The single chariot of the Lord will be pulled at 3.30 pm. After the chariot arrives at Rameshwar temple at 7.30 pm, other rituals will be performed.

The Bahuda Yatra will be held on April 13. The Adharapana Bhoga will be offered at 1.30 pm and Pahandi Niti held at 3 pm.

The servitors agreed at the meeting to complete the rituals on schedule so that the devotees can participate in pulling the chariot.
