Rumour-Mongering Among Biggest COVID-19 Lockdown Violations: Subroto Bagchi

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government has been very clear from the very beginning that it will not tolerate any violation of guidelines related to the COVID-19 lockdown. 

The government’s Chief Spokesperson on COVID-19, Subroto Bagchi gave the latest figures of violations in the last 24 hrs (April 9-10) in his daily briefing on Friday.

  • A total of 213 cases registered and 258 arrested
  • 205 for lockdown violation
  • 3 for spreading rumours
  • 5 cases for other issues related to COVID-19
  • So far, 63 persons have been arrested for rumour-mongering
