New Delhi: The Russian ‘Sputnik V’ COVID-19 vaccine has arrived in India after Pharma major Dr Reddy’s Laboratories’ approval to conduct an adaptive phase 2/3 human clinical trial for the vaccine in India, reported news agency IANS.
A video that surfaced on the social media showed containers with logos of Dr Reddy’s and Sputnik V being unloaded from a small truck.
Russia’s National Research Centre for Epidemiology and Microbiology and the Russian Direct Investment Fund declared on Wednesday that the Sputnik V vaccine demonstrated 92 per cent efficacy.
The Lancet, world’s leading medical journal, on September 4, published a research paper on the results of Phase I and Phase II clinical trials of the vaccine. The trials showed no serious adverse events and effective immune response of those vaccinated, as per the news agency report.
