Bhubaneswar: Giving pace to its probe into the mysterious death of two Russians in Rayagada, the Crime Branch of Odisha police on Wednesday said it plan to conduct a dummy simulation exercise to ascertain as to how lawmaker Pavel Antov died.
In its plan to recreate the circumstances that led to the death of Antov, the Crime Branch has contacted leading experts in Delhi. It specifically plans to conduct a dummy simulation exercise of falling from the roof top in similar circumstances, a Crime Branch statement said.
For this, a dummy of same weight and height as the deceased will be created with the help of experts of anatomy department of AIIMS and forensic experts. “The objective is to study the fall pattern,” it said.
For this, CB has contacted former Director of Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), CBI Dr Rajendra Dangi and Dr Dogra of AIIMS Delhi who are leading experts in dummy fall simulation exercise. They have been involved in resolving several complicated cases of CBI, it said.
They will ascertain the cause, nature and manner of the incident and the injury on the body of Antov and crosscheck with the postmortem report. This is expected to help the inquiring team of CB to reach a definite conclusion, it said.
Meanwhile, the CB team as well as scientific and forensic officers are camping at Rayagada and continuing with their investigation into the death of Antov and his friend Mikhail Bydenov.
Besides the staff of Sai International hotel where incidents took place, the CB sleuths are examining and receiving the seized exhibits from the district police to be sent to forensic experts for examination.
It may be noted here that Russian lawmaker Pavel Antov died allegedly after a fall from the roof of the hotel in Rayagada where they were staying on December 24, two days after Mikhail was found dead in his room on December 22.
