Koenjhar: A junior engineer, working with the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWSS) Division, was found hanging from a tree on the banks of Baitarani river in Champua block of Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Ramakrishna Singh.
According to sources, Singh went out on Sunday night but did not return home. Locals spotted the body this morning and informed police, which sent it for postmortem and initiated an investigation by registering an unnatural death case. Though the exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained, it is being suspected that he died by suicide.
