Malkangiri: Even though there has been no rain in Malkangiri for the past two days, some parts of the district are still marooned by floodwaters.
According to reports, the swelling of Godavari river due to heavy rain in Andhra Pradesh has flushed the river’s backwaters into Saberi river in Malkangiri district.
As a result, floodwater was flowing at a height of 3 feet over a bridge at Kanyashram, disrupting road communication between Kalimela and Padia as well as from Malkangiri to neigbouring Chhattisgarh.
