Rayagada: Sanitation workers found body of a newborn baby boy wrapped in a white cloth inside a sack near Rayagada bus stand early on Sunday.
According to the medical tag attached to the body, the baby had died on Friday at district headquarters hospital while under the treatment of Dr Shivaranjan Naik. It bore the names of his parents, Raising Majhi and Ramesh Majhi of Bhaamanput under Dongasil panchayat under Doraguda police limits.
A police officer told media that the baby was born at home but as the condition of the mother deteriorated after delivery, they wre shifted to the hospital. The mother gave birth to another baby girl, but baby boy died at the health facility. The father of the deceased then packed the body in the sack and dumped it near the bush.
