Sadhguru’s Isha Foundation Dismisses Police’s Claim Of 6 Missing Persons

Chennai: Six persons have been missing from Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev’s Isha Foundation in Coimbatore since 2016, Tamil Nadu Police told Madras High Court.

The foundation, however, dismissed the allegations.

“The news claiming that six people have disappeared from Isha Yoga Centre since 2016 is totally false and baseless,” Isha Foundation said in a statement.

Sadhguru has been recuperating from a brain surgery.

Police made the submission orally before a bench of Justices MS Ramesh and Sunder Mohan, reported Bar and Bench. The court was also informed that a probe into the missing cases is ongoing.

Setting the next date of hearing on April 18, the court directed police to submit a status report on the investigation.

The bench was hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by Tirunelveli district resident Thirumalai, who had approached the court after 46-year-old Ganesan went missing from Isha Foundation in March 2023.

Thirumalai told the court on Thursday that after failing to establish contact with his brother for several days, he had contacted Isha Foundation. The Foundation’s response was that Thirumalai’s brother, an employee at the ashram, had not reported for two days.

Thirumalai then lodged a police complaint and later moved the high court.
