Bhubaneswar: Barely three days after being appointed vice-president of Odisha Youth Congress, Sagar Charan Das reportedly resigned from the post citing injustice to him, in a sign of dissidence in the party ahead of the 2024 elections.
According to sources, Das has sent his resignation letter to Indian Youth Congress (IYC) president Srinivas B V, expressing ‘utmost disappointment and feelings of continued injustice’ towards him.
“Without any politically matured assessment, the IYC declared its decisions of Odisha Pradesh Youth Congress, neglecting a youth leader of schedule caste community. I hereby submit my resignation as vice-president,” TOI quoted Das as stating in his resignation letter addressed to the IYC president.
Das said he will continue to work for the party as a primary member.
Notably, Ranjit Patra was appointed president of state Youth Congress last week, while Das and Krushna Mohanty were made vice-presidents.
