Bhubaneswar: To drive home the importance of following traffic rules, SAI International School here hosted an awareness programme on road safety on Friday.
Twin City Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi attended the event as the chief guest. Sarangi said, “The violation of laws slows down the growth of a country.”
Urging the students to develop an attitude of respect for rules, he said, “Laws are there to make our society a better place.”
DCP (Traffic) Sagarika Nath, who was the guest of honour, highlighted the importance of safe driving and briefed the students on basic traffic rules.
Dr Bijaya Kumar Sahoo, Founder and Mentor of SAI International Education Group, said that absolute consciousness among individuals and families is required to maintain traffic and road safety.
On the occasion, a skit on traffic awareness was presented by artistes of Street Theatre Action Group (STAG) in association with Sanjog.
