Sai International Observes Day Of Service The Virtual Way

Bhubaneswar: As the nation faces the challenge of COVID-19 pandemic, the Going Global and Interact Clubs of SAI International School observed Day of Service the virtual way.

The drive this year focussed on providing unused masks, hand sanitizers and sanitary pads for the less fortunate and frontline workers.

The students launched an online donation drive called “High on Hygiene” for three weeks. They requested people to drop off masks, sanitizer bottles and sanitary pads in 2 drop boxes, one in Cuttack and another at Gate 4 of SAI International School here.

Donations also poured in cash form which was used for purchasing masks, stated an official involved in the services.

Over 2,000 unused cloth and medical masks were collected and 1,000 bottles of hand sanitiser along with 250 packets of sanitary pads were collected and later distributed among police department and vegetable vendors. The remaining masks will be given to BMC workers and nearby slum area, he stated.

The drive was coordinated by senior general manager Sarat Kar; PRO, Kailash Chandra Pattnaik and International Coordinator Jessica Patnaik.
