SAI-Odisha FC’s Golden Baby League Ends; Players Learn More Than Football Skills

Bhubaneswar: SAI International School and Odisha Football Club’s “Golden Baby League”, which concluded on Monday, saw students participating in the age groups of U-7, U-9 and U-11. The participants were mentored by experienced coaches of Odisha Football Club.

The students, during the valedictory ceremony, spoke about their experiences and how, apart from football skills, they also learned about teamwork, discipline, leadership quality, arithmetic, concentration, realization of mistakes and how not to blame others or to tease anyone.

The teams played a total of 28 matches and prizes were given away to the winners at the closing ceremony. The winners were:

  • In U-7 age group, Team-D was the Champion and Team E the Runner-up
  • In U-9, Team-A got the Champion’s trophy and Team-C was Runner-up
  • In U-11, Team-E won the Champion’s Trophy and Team-B was the Runner-up

Anita Pradhan of Class-II in U- 7 category, won the prize for scoring maximum goals. Prateek Arnav Jena of Class-III in U9, got the prize for scoring maximum goals. Mudit Mishra of class-IV got the prize for scoring maximum goals in U-11 group.

Founder and Mentor of SAI International School, Dr Bijaya Kumar Sahoo, encouraged the children to hone their football skills by constant learning and practicing. Sahoo said that doing so will not only help them to fight failures but inculcate essential leadership skills as well.

SAI International School is the official Grassroots Partner of Odisha Football Club (FC), which aims to make Odisha a football powerhouse of India by tapping the sporting potential of children and also provide a wholesome development in the game of football.
