Bhubaneswar: In order to ensure smooth admission process to new Sainik Schools, the Sainik School Society (SSS) will introduce e-counselling for the first time.
As per the new system, a link will be sent to each applicant as prescribed by the SSS through email or mobile numbers. The new Sainik Schools will also be provided access to provide category and gender-wise information as well as vacancies, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said in a release on Sunday.
The applicant can access the web portal www.sainikschool.ncog.gov.in through the link for registration. All the applicants will be provided the option to select upto 10 schools as a choice of allocation. The schools will be allocated based on rank and choice and final results declared through e-counselling portal, the MoD said.
The students, who would accept accept their choices, would be informed about the dates of physical verification.
The ministry said the automated system for e-Counselling will not only ensure transparency in the admission process but also will be less expensive and user friendly. It will also provide real-time monitoring of the entire process.
