Balangir: The District Education Officer (DEO) of Odisha’s Balangir has withheld salaries for eleven Block Education Officers (BEOs) for their alleged failure to meet targets under the government’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ tree plantation campaign.
As per information, the DEO has withheld the salaries of eleven BEOs for the month of July as they allegedly failed to achieve the targets under the plantation programme.
In a communication to the District Treasury and Sub-Treasury Officers, DEO Pradeep Nag has stated that the salaries of these BEOs will be released only after the successful implementation of the programme. The District Treasury and Sub-Treasury Officers have been asked to withhold the salaries of these BEOs until further orders.
The salaries will be released only after these BEOs demonstrate significant progress in achieving the programme’s objectives.
The BEOs who faced the action are Shyam Meher, Dilip Joshi, Arttatrana Rath, Mamata Mahadik, Namita Rani Bhoi, Baikuntha Sabar, Santanu Padhihari, Gautam Patel, Abhinab Mishra, Shankar Prasad Majhi, and Ratnmay Purohit.
