Cuttack: The minor girl from Tunapur village under Salepur police station limits in Cuttack district, who had attempted suicide after being allegedly raped, died while undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital here on Tuesday.
The accused identified as Arun Biswal hailing from the same village has been arrested by police after a complaint regarding the crime was lodged by the victim’s family members.
According to police sources, the girl had attempted to commit suicide by hanging herself on March 9. She was rescued and admitted to the hospital in a critical condition.
The accused is being interrogated and further probe into the case is on, the sources said.
