Lucknow: A Salman Khan lookalike was detained by police for breaching peace and disrupting traffic in the Clock Tower area of old Lucknow while trying to shoot videos on a busy street.
Azam Ansari, who is popular in social media for imitating the Bollywood superstar’s mannerisms, has a fan base of 1.6 lakh on YouTube and around 77,000 followers on Instagram.
“Azam Ansari’s act was causing public nuisance and disrupting the traffic in the busy Old city. It was just an attempt to teach him a lesson and to make him aware of traffic rules,” said Hari Shankar, station house officer (SHO) Thakurganj police station.
A challan was issued to Ansari under section 151 for disrupting and violating public peace, the police official informed. The incident took place on Sunday night.
Azam Ansari posted a video clip on Instagram where he is seen walking down a street during daytime as vehicles have been stopped at a traffic intersection.
