Salman Khan Opens Up About Bollywood’s Silence On ‘Sikandar’, Says Everyone Needs Support

Mumbai: Superstar Salman Khan’s latest film ‘Sikandar’, which hit theatres on March 30, received mixed reviews from the audience and critics.

While some criticised the actor for not taking his profession seriously, others blamed the director for an unimpressive product.

Amid this harsh criticism, a video clip in which the actor hints at industry’s selective support, has gone viral.

During an interview with Bollywood Bubble, when the host asked Salman why Bollywood remained silent about ‘Sikandar’, when he keeps promoting the movies of others, the actor said, “Unko aisa lagta hoga ki zaroorat nahin padti mujhe. (Maybe they think that I don’t need their support.)”

“But, sabko zaroorat padti hai. (Everybody needs support, including me.),” he added.

While promoting ‘Sikandar’, Salman promoted Sunny Deol’s upcoming mass film ‘Jaat’, and Mohanlal’s Malayalam blockbuster ‘L2: Empuraan.’

Among the Bollywood actors who promoted ‘Sikandar’ include Sunny and Aamir Khan.

News18 Showsha gave gave 3.5 stars to ‘Sikandar’ in its review. “Salman Khan’s presence is electrifying, and he commands every scene with his trademark charisma. Whether he’s delivering punchlines, performing stunts, or simply walking into a room, his aura is undeniable. Sikandar is an unapologetic Salman Khan vehicle, and it’s a wild ride that’s sure to leave fans grinning from ear to ear,” it wrote.

The film has managed to collect Rs 85 crore in three days.

As per box-office reports, Salman’s charisma will help the film cross the Rs 100-crore mark soon.
