Sambalpur: The district administration on Friday decided to reopen Samaleswari Temple in the city to the devotees from January 3, 2021.
According to official sources, the decision follows a meeting of the Samaleswari Temple Trust Board after the state government allowed reopening of Jagannath Temple in Puri.
The sources said the temple management authorities have been directed to follow the COVID-19 guidelines strictly after opening. The Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the devotees and temple priests and servitors in this regard will be issued soon, they added.
The 16th century shrine has been closed for devotees since March 23 due to the COVIDd-19 pandemic and resultant lockdown.
