Sambalpur Enters COVID-19 Death Map In Odisha

Sambalpur: Sambalpur district reported its first COVID-19 death on Thursday after a 67-year-old man succumbed to the virus. The deceased was also suffering from hypertension, the district administration informed.

Meanwhile, the overall COVID-19 caseload in the district surged to 342 on Thursday with 40 new positive cases reported overnight.

All the new patients, including two COVID warriors, were asymptomatic and being shifted to the dedicated coronavirus facility, the district administration said.

All the above cases are from Mahanandpada at Burla, detected during active surveillance.

5- 20 yrs male from Budharaja. He was detected during active surveillance

6- 39 yrs male

7- 12 yrs male

The latter two are local contact cases from Sonapali.

8- 30 yrs female (COVID Warrior) GM College, Sambalpur, contact case

9- 47 yrs male (COVID Warrior), working at Dhanupali, Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) contact case

10- 32 yrs female

11- 38 yrs male

12- 35 yrs female

13- 47 yrs female, Cheruapada, under SMC area, and is detected during active surveillance

14- 62 yrs female, Rajghat, under SMC area, and is detected during active surveillance

15- 62 yrs male,

16-55 yrs female

17- 35 yrs female

18- 30 yrs male

19- 42 yrs male

20- 30 yrs female

All are local contact cases from Kusthapada area under Sambalpur Municipal Corporation (SMC).

21- 47 yrs female

22-50 yrs female

23- 45 yrs female

24- 40 yrs female

25- 62 yrs female

26- 40 yrs male

27- 62 yrs male

28-24 yrs male

29- 30 yrs male

30- 35 yrs female

31- 14 yrs female

All were detected during active surveillance in Amripada area under SMC.

32- 70 yrs female

33- 30 yrs female

34- 63 yrs male

35- 53 yrs female

36- 53 yrs female

37- 20 yrs female

38- 25 yrs female

39- 19 yrs female

40- 23 yrs male

All are from Kusthapada, under the SMC area, and are contact cases.

Contact tracing is under progress, the administration tweeted.

With one death and 175 recoveries, Sambalpur district has 166 active cases at present.
