Bhubaneswar: Even as VHP has called bandh in 14 districts of Odisha on Wednesday in protest against the attack on a rally related to Hanuman Jayanti in Sambalpur city, the BJD has decided to bring out a peace march on the day.
In a press release in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday, BJP spokesperson Shreemayee Mishra said, “It is extremely unfortunate that when peace is returning to Sambalpur, the Odisha BJP wants to instigate for political gains. This has always been their strategy.”
Claiming that the police have taken tough action against those involved in the violence, she said the perpetrators including those who instigate will face the law. This political strategy of defaming 4.5 crore Odias is the biggest insult BJP can do against Odisha, she added.
“When students are appearing for examinationss in schools, you want to undertake bandh and harass them. How sad. BJD will bring out a peace march across in Odisha on April 19 evening,” she added.
Earlier, the BJP had announced its support to the hartal called by the VHP in 14 districts including 10 in western Odisha and undivided Koraput.
