Sambalpuri Singer Ruksana Bano Dies At AIIMS-Bhubaneswar; Family Alleges Slow Poisoning

Bhubaneswar: Popular Sambalpuri singer Ruksana Bano passes away while undergoing treatment at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar on Wednesday night.

Ruksana’s mother said that she fell ill after having some juice while shooting for music video at Balangir bus stand about 15 days back. Her face swelled up and he was admitted to a hospital in Bhawanipatna on August 27. After preliminary treatment, she was referred to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Balangir and later shifted to a private hospital at Bargarh as her condition deteriorated.

The singer was then brought to AIIMS here when there was no improvement in her health condition but breathed her last during treatment.

While it is being suspected that she might have been succumbed to scrub typhus, her family have accused another Sambalpuri singer of slow poisoning her to death.

The AIIMS authorities are yet to issued a statement in this connection.
