Sambalpur: The beautiful weaves of Sambalpur hogged limelight at a recent fashion show at Bharupalli in Sambalpur district.
Models from Bhubaneswar, Ranchi, Kolkata and Mumbai sashayed down the ramp, showcasing ethnic and modern costumes in Sambalpuri handloom by ‘Bunkari India’, ‘Sakhsi Handloom’ and ‘Traditional Way’.
NextXen, an event management company, in association with NGO ‘Orishis’ had organised the show to promote Sambalpuri weaves and weavers.
“Such shows help weavers to increase their income,” NextXen director Hitendra Sahi.
Dr Rasheswari Panigrahi, DK Mehera and Kalyan Satpathy graced the show as guests.
